Camp HOPE 2021: A truly magical experience
Camp HOPE 2021 was nothing short of magical.
Camp HOPE is a weeklong, sleepaway camp hosted by Sojourner for children impacted by family violence. This year’s theme was Developing Dreams. Along with traditional summer camp activities (e.g., swimming, kayaking, archery, etc.), campers learned to build hope and resilience through an evidence-based curriculum to create a space where campers feel safe, seen, encouraged and loved. Over the week, campers learned to believe in themselves, others and in their dreams.

2020 Annual Report
As we reflect on 2020, we are filled with a deep sense of gratitude and pride.
The pandemic created urgent, new challenges for survivors. Additionally, our staff, partners and volunteers faced numerous obstacles, which required creative solutions and collaboration. People experiencing domestic violence can text (414) 877-8100 for help from a trained Advocate. Sojourner, Wisconsin’s largest provider of domestic violence prevention and intervention services, recently added free, confidential 24-hour text support to complement its 24-hour domestic violence hotline.

Lullaby Project 2021
Since 2018, Sojourner and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra have collaborated to help domestic violence survivors make beautiful music through the Lullaby Project.
The collaboration is one of 30 worldwide, through Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, where musicians and artists work with pregnant women, parents, and grandparents to write, arrange and record original music for their children. The program supports maternal health, aids child development, and strengthens family bonds.
